Maintain your boiler to save

As we enter deeper into the heating season, it’s imperative that buildings with central heating plants consider and implement a plan to maintain their boilers. Over time, your equipment’s components such as your heat exchanger and burners gather dust, soot, and loose rust which needs to be removed to maintain efficiency of the equipment. Additionally, with routine use, the fuel to air mixture ratio falls out of proper adjustment and needs remedied on your burner. A tune-up also provides an opportunity for a professional HVAC technician to review the safety of your systems such as checking safety controls and checking for proper venting. Ever wonder how efficient your boiler is operating, an HVAC technician can check the combustion efficiency of your equipment both before and after your equipment has received a tune-up using an electronic combustion analyzer that provides a printout of your system’s efficiencies.

The Peoples Gas Energy Efficiency Program provides incentives for customers to help offset the cost of a boiler tune-up every three years if they aren’t already under a service contract providing you with a tune-up annually.
